Jacquelyn (or Jaqie) McGauley here! Born and raised in Prince George's County, MD where I gained a love for braiding at a very young age. I trained at the Prince George's Community College where I became certified as a Natural Hair Care and Braiding Technician, then studied under Madam Walker's Braidery in Temple Hills, MD. After getting more experience at three local salons, I studied at Mount St. Mary's University where I graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Business Management and a minor in Communications.  As a professional braider, I serve corporate professionals, news correspondents, business owners, doctors, nurses, and other hard-working women.

I am also a lover of personal finance and have a passion for building multiple streams of income.  I created Braiding & Building to bring a community of beauty professionals together to level up with their finances and focus on not only securing the bag, but securing their future!
